Last Sunday after Pentecost: Christ the King

Almighty and everlasting God, whose will it is to restore all things in your well-beloved Son, the King of kings and Lord of lords: Mercifully grant that the peoples of the earth, divided and enslaved by sin, may be freed and brought together under his most gracious rule; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayers of the People

Marvelous, glorious God, with sincere thanks for the blessings won by Christ our Lord, we offer to you our deepest prayers as we say, Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

May your Church always look to its head, the Lord Jesus, whose example has given us a template for our lives and commission calls us forward in mission and ministry.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

We pray for our Presiding Bishop, Sean Rowe, the Bishop of Rhode Island, Nicholas Knisely, and for all bishops and other ministers, and for all who serve God in his Church.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Strengthen us to be advocates for justice and peace in our society.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Be present to us today so that, with confidence in Christ’s promises, we might recommit ourselves to lives of service in His name and become agents of God’s love to all whom we encounter.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

You have formed the creation that it might sustain us and help us to thrive, help us to use it responsibly and to work with others to sustain its bounty.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

Let the healing power of Christ enter into the lives of all who suffer, especially we pray for those on our Parish Prayer List.
Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

The flowers are given the loving memory of Shirley Silvia. May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, rest in peace.

On the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, for the clergy and people of St. Andrew’s, Little Compton, and the faculty and students of St. Andrew’s School in Barrington

We offer these prayers in the name of Christ the King, who with the Father and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns forever.
Amen.

Thankful? Yes. We are thankful for Howard’s warm welcome each Sunday, the company of our fellow parishioners, uplifting music, holy scripture to embrace , thought provoking and moving reflections by our Revs, sharing the Eucharist together and with all the company of heaven, and, today in particular, hot coffee and “donut holes” after our service thanks to Marty’s generosity.
