Bishop Knisely Visit
The Right Rev. Nicholas Knisely, the Thirteenth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island will be visiting St. Paul’s Church, Portsmouth on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013. Bishop Knisely will be the celebrant and preacher at the 9:00 am service that morning. He was ordained bishop on November 17th, 2012, and this will be his first official visit to St. Paul’s. We invite all members of the parish, family, friends, and the community as a whole to this special event in the life of the church. There will be a reception and a conversation with the Bishop following the service. Please make every effort to attend.
Lenten Bible Study
Bishop Knisely is urging our Diocese to become a leader in returning the Bible to what he calls its “rightful central place in our faith.” He is asking that we commit ourselves to a Lenten discipline of reading the Biblical books of Luke and Acts of the Apostles along with him. We’ll be reading a chapter a day (2 chapters on February 25, 26, 27) . You can follow along in this Bible study with Bishop Knisely at www.episcopalri.org .
