To the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island,
During this time of pandemic, we are faced with continually evolving circumstances. As people of faith, we have a sure and certain anchor in the love of God made known to us in Jesus Christ. God is summoning us here to a particular ministry in this time of crisis. We will do everything we can do as Christian people to serve and support our neighbors and our communities across the state.
As followers of Jesus, we are not always certain where to begin. We can promise to pray without ceasing for the wellbeing of our communities and the whole world. From there we can ask God to show us where we are needed and how we might best respond, as in this humble prayer:
This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen. The Book of Common Prayer, p. 461.
Please feel free to share this message with your families, friends and fellow parishioners, and invite them to sign up for future messages and information.
